Over 1,100 people attended our big finale to Street Cosmos phase 1, and launch of Light Years, at TCR Hub Barnard Castle.

Indoors - The Street Cosmos Showcase
Big Bang was a 2-in-1 event. Indoors at TCR Hub, we hosted our Street Cosmos Showcase.
5 unique installations and exhibitions made by our Street Cosmos community collaborators Blackhall Community Centre, Gaunless Gateway Big Local and TCR Hub, with scientists from Durham University.
They were:
- METEORITES – AN INVESTIGATION – By Gaunless Gateway Big Local, Little Chefs Big Chefs, Auckland Youth and Community Centre, Sarah Stamp.
- THE BLACKHALL WORMHOLE – By Blackhall Community Centre, Daisy Arts.
- DO YOU WANNA TO BUILD A SPACEMAN? – By Daisy Arts, Blackhall Community Centre.
- THE ASTRONAUT’S STUDIO – By TCR Hub, Mack Sproates.
- TRASHION CAPSULE COLLECTION – By TCR Hub, including workshop with Helen Schell.
Outdoors - Light Years
Across the vast grounds of TCR Hub, we hosted free activities to launch Light Years.
Light Years is a 3-year programme of dynamic art-science collaborations that will celebrate the 1,200 year history of space science in County Durham, shine a spotlight on worldclass research and innovation in next generation spacetech, and invites the public to explore the really big questions of the universe.
Part of the Into the Light, a place-based creative collaboration that will drive long-lasting growth in County Durham. Led by Durham County Council.
